EXIT annual meeting

A year into the project, the first nano-microfluidic chips from SINTEF saw the life of the test experiments at Leiden University. EXIT team got together to discuss the microchip designs and the lithography process.

Science is Wonderful event in Brussels

The project coordinator of EXIT Dr. Yuliya Shakalisava participated in the European public engagement initiative Science is Wonderful, that took place on 25-26 September 2018 at the European Parliament in Brussels. Science is Wonderful is one of the most impactful outreach events with 4500 visitors. The school children and general public got introduced to the exosomes research in an engaging way with the slimy beads and the play of light. The microfluidic technology of the project EXIT was presented as a possible solution for this challenging field of research.

EXIT kicks off in Leiden

The EXIT project kicked off during a one-day meeting at Leiden University in Leiden, the Netherlands on 30th April 2018. The three-year project will develop a novel nanofluidic device for the isolation of exosomes from bodily fluids and will use this device in the investigation of the metabolic, proteomic, immunologic and transcriptional changes in Alzheimer’s disease.

The project partners got together in Leiden for the project’s first meeting. The project goals and scientific aspects were discussed in all technical details. The meeting focused on the key first steps of the project and establishing efficient internal communication between the project partners.
